Victorian Cut Glass Pickle Jar

Height (including lid): 15 cm (6 inches)
Height (excluding lid): 11 cm (4.3 inches)
Diameter (at base): 7.5 cm (2.75 inches)

A particularly attractive example of this kind of jar. It has deep, vertical cuts, dividing the outside into 12 panels. The top half of each panel has been cut into two lots of four squares. The lid is star cut and has square facets at its widest part, mirroring the rest of the jar. The base is plain with a smoothed out and polished pontil. The glass itself has the stirations you would expect to see in a jar of this age and an occasional air bubble. The base and lid are both etched with a very small number 5.

No chips or cracks. There is minimal wear to the base as would be expected. Excellent condition.
